Selbsterntefelder enable users to harvest agricultural products over the entire year on a certain plot. Mostly those plots are set up, planted and watered by a farmer or gardener. Because the contracts are most of the time for one year, perennial plants are not planted. All plots grow the same products, but sometimes there is the possibility to grow your own vegetables on the plot as well.
Selbsterntefelder are usually not organised by a collective and need less interaction between the gardeners. Missing are often community areas like children play corners or benches and tables to relax at.
